Our client is a national waste broker, located in Newark-on-Trent, specialising in providing bespoke recycling and waste management solutions to their customers. They provide national upcycling and waste management services to an extensive number of business sectors.

They are recruiting for a Corporate Business Development Manager to join their team.

The Corporate Business Development Manager reports directly to the Head of Sales and forms part of a dynamic Sales department. The Sales team is responsible for driving sales growth for engaging and developing new business.

The Sales team comprises the Head of Sales, Bid Manager, and Internal Sales Executive.

Corporate Business Development Manager

As the Corporate Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for researching, engaging and developing new business from existing and new sales verticals to grow revenue and profit for our client, achieving or exceeding the sales/ margin target.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Corporate Business Development Manager include:

 

  • Identify, qualify (including customer financial due diligence), pursue, and capture new business pipeline (using the Sales & Marketing Strategy).
  • Achieve sales growth in line with company, departmental and individual targets.
  • Identify customer needs and work with other departments to deliver the right solution.
  • Prepare quotations and tender submissions reflecting the full Client market proposition.
  • Build and maintain a live customer and prospect bank with credible forecast using the Company CRM system.
  • Plan personal sales activity effectively with regular prospect and customer contact – face to face meetings, calls, and email communication.
  • Self-generate credible leads for prospecting.
  • Contribute content and ideas for marketing and sales campaigns.
  • Support Head of Sales and collaborate with operations and supply chain to develop operational and supply chain processes to improve performance and maximise growth.
  • Positively represent the Company, ensure the Client market proposition is compelling and relevant and be an external Champion of Client.
  • Stay abreast of latest waste management trends and sector developments including attending industry and sector relevant trade shows and exhibitions as necessary.
  • Attend and represent trade shows, networking events etc. for net new business acquisition as required.
  • Build productive relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Perform all duties in line with Company core values, mission and vision.

 

About You

 

  • Commercially astute.
  • A self-starter, building own pipeline, using initiative and creativity.
  • Confident and excellent communicator (internally and externally).
  • Excellent customer support skills and ability to gain confidence of the customer.
  • Good analytical skills (including competent Excel skills).
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively but to lead a team to complete a sale.

 

Experience

 

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets as part of a dynamic sales environment.
  • Experience of working in the waste management sector.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Member of CIWM (desirable) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of environmental and contract law.

 

Driver’s licence and willingness to travel and stay away from home.
